Career Services - For Your Whole Career
Believe it or not, we could train you to be the greatest chef or hospitality professional in the world and still fail. Because if we're not offering valuable career services assistance, it would be like making a gourmet meal without bothering to set the table.
That's why our career services staff takes the time to get to know you: your skills, your interests, your expectations, and your goals, all of which we build into a personalized profile that allows us to identify the opportunities most likely to be a good fit for you. Opportunities that will quite possibly arise from our constant recruitment of new employers looking to fill their needs with the best and the brightest - in other words, you.
But that's just the beginning. We don't simply give you leads and send you into the job market empty-handed. We provide you with a complete range of support services including interest surveys, resource materials, skills for writing resumes and cover letters, interview workshops, goal-setting tips and advice on managing change - all to help you begin your career.
Speaking of beginning your career, each program at The Chef's Academy culminates in an externship. This provides an outstanding opportunity to get real-world, hands-on experience in the field and establishes a network of connections that can lead to a permanent position after you graduate.
Finally...there is no finally. With The Chef's Academy, our assistance doesn't end just because you've accepted your first job offer. Our policy is lifetime career services. Whenever you need us, we'll be here.

Use The Chef's Academy Connections
Are you aware that the majority of top Culinary, Pastry, and Hospitality jobs are not even advertised? We can help. The Chef's Academy has a large network base that is eager to hire educated employees, and our Career Services Department is continually expanding that network.
As graduation approaches, our director of career services, Natalie Fellure, will meet with you to arrange an internship and externship that suits your needs. Once you graduate, she will continue to assist you in finding a job through our vast array of connections and job fairs.
When to Begin
The question is: when, in a two year program, should you start searching for a job? The answer: Day 1.
It starts with sound advice like this: there are some jobs just about anyone could get with just about any level of experience. And if you wait until you graduate to start looking, you might wind up with one of them. That's why we encourage you to pay your dues while you're still in school. Take the grunt jobs. Work the unwanted shift. That way when you have a degree, you'll have the experience to match.
Honest, Practical Advice
We start getting to know you the day you walk in the door. Who you are. What you want to accomplish. We observe how you behave and what motivates you. Maybe how you react to criticism. So when it comes time to give you advice on a potential offer, we know what we're talking about. Because career assistance doesn't start when you graduate, it starts when you enroll.
Honesty with Employers Enhances Our Reputation - And Yours
The worst thing we can do for your career is gloss over the truth about students who've come ahead of you. (Of course that puts more pressure on us to make sure there are plenty of positives to convey, but pressure isn't something you shy away from in this industry.) We've painstakingly crafted a level of trust among employers that leads to better fits for more students. And it all comes from getting to know your specific skill set (where you excel), who you are and what you want.
